If you need a primer on foreign aid this is the book for you. Bauer's critique of egalitarians is scathing and effective.

this is a gem, and absolute classic. Chapter 1, entitled "The Grail of Equality" is alone worth the cost of the book. Peter Bauer is an excellent writer and his exposure of the foreign aid mess is a salutary lesson on the incompetence of governments to end poverty. Buy this book as soon as you can.
