Secrets of Success

This book provides a step-by-step guide to developing, maintaining, and evaluating educational programs. Although the examples given are math and science-based, the ideas are universal and timeless. Instead of jumping onto an educational wave, Kaser and Bourexis illustrate basic tried-and-true methods of improving quality and stability in programs. The main theme running through this book is that of "profiling," a technique used to design new programs by breaking down those already in existence and comparing their individual components side by side. The authors give specific aspects of a variety of different types of programs and examples of how these aspects help to build a program. This book is specific, comprehensive, and well-organized, full of bulletted paragraphs and charts for easy and visual reference. It's a slow read because of its density, but worth every word. A must-read for anyone planning any sort of school development.
