If you're only going to buy one book on writing for engineers, buy this one!

I teach technical writing at a large state research institute, and this is one of the only books I would recommend to my students (and I have about 20 or 25 technical writing books on my bookshelf!). It is easy to read and well organized, has practical advice and examples, and best of all, it has a good sense of humor. It would be a great buy for a practicing engineer or for an engineering student (undergrad or grad).

Presents concepts well.

Key concepts are logically well presented. The book is easy to read with a lot of examples, but the text can be easily skipped to get to the points. The book helps with generating and organizing ideas, constructing more effective sentences, and troubleshooting writing problems. The book is not about grammar, but it is a practical analysis of how to write better.

Engineering your writing success

I'm a processes enginner at a power plant. I didn't know how can I improve my writing skill on the job such as writings of report, proposal, procedures, letters, memos and e-mail, which were daily assaignments. Once, I attended a business writing course, and the instructor advised me to buy this book, and I did. It's a great book not only for the professional engineers but also for the technicians, and the students of engineering colleges. I highly recommend this book and I say for all engineers go for it.
