Very Useful

Very helpful book and extremely easy to use. If the author ever expands the scope of this book to include conversions of less well used units, he will have an immediate buyer!

Excellent

This is an excellent book and a must-have for anyone interested in science, engineering and in some cases even history. It uses the format: Unit -- Multiplied by - Gives, for a very wide range of English, Metric and obscure units. It gives the units in both directions, i.e., inches are given in terms of centimeters (also meters, kilometers, chains, links (both Gunter's and Ramesden's) and centimeters are given in terms of inches. It covers obscure units (such as cubits, langleys, douziemes and many, many, more). I said that people interested in history would be interested in this book. Where else could you find that a barleycorn multiplied by 48 gives one douzieme, or multiplied by 0.33333 gives one inch, or that one cubit multiplied by 1.5 equals one foot.

might be useful for PE exam, definately for work

Very comprehensive, lots of unusual units.

This book is a tool, nothing more, nothing less

I despise conversions, and I tend to make mistakes doing them. This book is so straightforward and logical that I wouldn't dream going into a P.E. or F.E. exam without it!

Engineering Unit Conversions

Lindeburg provides engineers with what they need to convert different units. The book is laid out logically and includes many somewhat obscure units as well as those we take for granted on a daily basis. The book provides no definitions or applications of said units. It is purely "conversion factors made easy." I use it more often than any other book in my engineering library.
