I have spent the past twenty years in Energy Education. During that time I've searched for a comprehensive book on the process of optimizing building operation. You don't know how refreshing it is to finally find a book that covers all of the issues of this topic and then demonstrates the process for determining if a building is running a peak level or not. Mr. Herzog's book gives practical examples of the protocol to follow in a very understandable, almost cookbook way, which makes it so easy for a building operator to implement his suggested strategies. I now use Mr. Herzog's book as a text for my courses in energy efficiency. The method for optimizing a building's performance is the same method an energy engineer would use to determine the energy efficiency levels of a building. His book could be also used as a manual for commissioning and re-commissioning agents. I'm very pleased with this work. Its about time someone wrote a book on this topic that is understandable. Thanks Mr. Herzog.
