Good book with so-so ending

I loved this book when I started reading it. It was a great story, well written, and the characters were great! I was "enchanted" until the end. The ending was disappointing. The author would like us to believe that the villians, who raped and kidnapped innocent young women, and killed several men to cover it up, could be run out of town by the hero threatening to hurt them? It seemed a little far-fetched to me. Other than the ending being a little hard to believe, I thought the book was a good read.

Utterly Enchanting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For every girl who's ever dreamed of the boy next door, this one's for you. I'm on my second reading of this novel and I still find it hard to believe this is only the author's second effort. It has all the elements of a keeper, humor, intrique, and a lovely tender romance. Not a lightweight romance novel this, but so much more.I loved the fact that even though Amie has loved Cris for as long as she can remember, she is not willing settle for anything less than equal emotion from him. I cheered when she turned down his first proposal. She had an integrity that is lacking in most heroines. It was fun watching Cris find his way to the realization that he truly loved Amie as more than a friend. The secondary characters were lots of fun and the plot involving the stereotypical lords of the realm was dastardly clever, even though they weren't! I just had to laugh. While I have no idea if the author has planned stories for Amie's sisters, I certainly would love to see more of these characters. The guardian was a hoot, trying to "fix them up"! The excerpts of Ms. Malvey's next novel "Temptress" have already intrigued me. If it is half as good as Enchanted, I predict that she is on the fast track to success!!!!

Romance and adventure with a twist!

Victoria Malvey's Enchanted will delight all fans of romance! The romance between Chris and Amie builds slowly and steadily, making the book impossible to put down. Victoria's writing is marvelous, adding both touches of humor and true suspense. I enjoyed this book immensely.

Totally enchanting

In 1822 isolated Dovedale, England, Amelia Ralston is heartbroken when her best friend Crispin Merrick, Marquees of Tamerly, is sent to school. Five years later, Crispin meets Owen Chambers, the Earl of Newbury. The pair becomes close friends. That same night Cris sneaks out of a boring ball. However, on his way out of the gardens, he stops three aristocratic thugs from brutalizing a young woman. The trio (nicknamed Alonso, Prospero, and Sebastian) escapes and soon discusses plans of vengeance against the interloper Crispin. In 1832, Crispin returns to his childhood home where he meets up with Amelia, who has always passionately loved him. He sees her as his little Amelia. Crispin tells his friend Owen that the rumors about his depraved sex life bother him though they are untrue. However, unbeknownst to them, the three Tempest fellows, who were the ones that spread the terrible tales about Crispin, have followed him into the countryside. Even as Crispin falls in love with Amelia, the dastardly threesome has selected the Ralston women as the target of their game of abducting young innocents. It is up to Crispin, Owen, and Mr. Ralston to stop them before they hurt one of the girls. Readers will be ENCHANTED by Victoria Malvey's intriguing and unique Regency romance. Though the story line is based on Amelia's efforts to persuade Crispin she is the one for him, the addition of the Dark Lords club adds much excitement. Sub-genre fans will relish this novel even as they demand more tales starring the Ralston siblings.Harriet Klausner
