reprint of an enchanting mid 90s time travel romance

In Seattle, Ivy Raymond owns and operates an antique store, ENCHANTED TIME. She normally sees sellers by appointment or in bulk lots, but to rid herself of the pesky elderly woman, she agrees to look at the package. Inside is a book from the sixteenth century that obviously is worth a lot, but the woman insists on $100 or she will sell it to the nearby bookstore owner. A stunned Ivy feels some sort of weird inexplicable connection to the names inside the tome and buys the book.Ivy reads some of the incantations only to find the spells work though she remains skeptical. However, the last spell she cites sends her back to the drafty abode of a seventeenth century gentleman, Julian Ramsden. As they fall in love, he wonders if she is a spy working for his enemy trying to stop Julian from regaining all he lost. Then there is the Witch Hunter General who will hang female family members of Julian including his beloved Ivy if he is not stopped in time. This is a reprint of an enchanting mid 90s time travel romance that is one of the sub-genre's best. The story line is exciting due to a tremendous cast who will make moving back and forth in the time stream seem possible. Ivy is a wonderful heroine and her beloved is a delightful hunk struggling between love and desire vs. trust. The secondary characters provide depth to the mid-seventh century especially the Witch Hunter General. Readers will have an ENCHANTED TIME perusing Amy Elizabeth Saunders' appealing tale.Harriet Klausner

Absolutely Enchanting!

I have been reading Romance novels every night before bed for 10 years and have to say this ranks in my top 10, right up there with Judith McNaught. My next purchase will be all of Amy Elizabeth Saunders other novels. I hope to hear Daisy and Susanna's stories soon!

Time Travel Romance at its Best!

Ivy Raymond is interested only in the antiques she sells and the past they represent. Then one December afternoon kooky old lady comes into her store and sells her a book of spells and she finds herself in the seventeenth century. As witchcraft seems to permeate the home of her rescuer, Julian Ramsden, Ivy begins to feel she has found her place in the world. This is a wonderful book for time travel junkies with characters that feel like friends by the end. Don't miss this one!

Enchanting

I just love a good "bodice ripper" novel and 'Enchanted Time' fits the bill with bells on. It's a great read for the person who just wants to sit down and enjoy a sparkling love story with a bit of a difference. The plot follows Ivy a young American bookstore owner who is transported through time when she reads from a book of spells a sweet little old lady sells to her one day. Ivy finds herself in 17th century England where she catches the attention of Julian Ramsden, a young man struggling to survive with his family under the puritanical rule of Oliver Cromwell and his Roundheads. Of course Ivy and Julian fall in love but not before all sorts of strange and wonderful things happen to them both. Without giving too much of the story away, 'Enchanted Time' is a fun book, with some genuinely witty moments, a lot of delicious love scenes between Ivy and Julian and a delightful plot that includes a time-hopping Granny, a mute child, and a very nasty Witch Hunter General who goes by the name of Josiah Feake. This is a great book to take on holiday as it doesn't tax your brain cells and has the added bonus of being fun to read as well.

A GREAT BOOK ABOUT WITCHCRAFT TODAY AND FROM THE PAST

I loved this book. It had some great witchcraft tales and great stuff about antiques. I loved the characters! They are very personable. I found I could relate to the heroine's emotions when she discovered she was not where she was supposed to be. The details of the dresses and other objects as very vivid...I could see and smell the surroundings it was so well done! the relationship was well done too! A great book for anyone who likes witches antiques and castles!
