Emmanuel McClue and the Mystery of the Shroud

"Emmanuel McClue and The Mystery of the Shroud" is a wonderful book. Mr. McCaffrey does an excellent job of presenting the world as seen through the eyes of an eleven year - and making it interesting to adults also. The book investigates the relationships between Theology and Science in ways children and adults will understand. And to top it all off, the book is a very enjoyable read! I hope that there will be another book with Emmanuel McClue and Speagle, his beagle!

Look out Harry Potter

Move over Harry, Emmanuel McClue is on the case! Finally a kids series that deals with spiritual questions in the real world. Tony McCaffery has done a great job of combining mystery, adventure and education into a fast moving story. It's refreshing to see a series that tackles the question of good and evil using modern metaphors. I'll be collecting the future books in the series for my neice and nephew, but only after I read them myself.

Good job, McClue and McCaffrey!

As a middle-age reader, I am impressed by the author's clever ability to weave an exciting spy story around a 12-year-old and his dealing with several real-life adult issues. Emmanuel's globe-trotting adventures with his canine buddy give him the opportunity to face both scientific and religious questions at a level appropriate for his age. The integration of intrigue with the search for life's answers will appeal to both middle-schoolers AND their parents. I'm looking forward to a sequel!

Exciting, fast-moving story should be very appealing to children and adults. 12 - year old Emmanuel with his side kick Speagle travel around the worldinvestigating mysterious religious events. The author deals with timelytopics in a straightforward and truthful manner. Great book for middlegrade schoolers and young teens.

An awesome new adventure series for everybody!

This is a wonderful new book for pre-teens, teens, and adults alike. While written on a middle-school level, the content is mature and edgy enough for adults too. A 12-year-old boy travels the world with his parents investigating spiritual mysteries. Imagine "The X Files" and "Unsolved Mysteries", but for a younger reader. This book deals with human cloning, but presents it in an exciting and thought-provoking way. Pick up this book and you won't put it down until you're finished! The cute dog named Speagle is a definite bonus!
