Like being held in the arms of a loving mother: by fray Wayne Matthew Mari, S.M.

This book is prefect for the Marian devotee. The author, Fr. Rawley Myers, dedicated his priesthood to the Blessed Virgin and this book shows the fruit of that consecration. Provided herein are readings for every major Marian feast day, as well as poems, prayers and reflections for each Saturday of the year (Saturday is the day of the week traditionally associated with Mary in the ecclesiastical calendar), along with daily meditations for the months of May and October. These two months have long been deemed by the Church as "Marian" months. This is not a heady or intellectual book. It is geared more for personal reflection and devotional reading. Fr. Myers' insights are poignant and rarely preachy. He gently guides the reader through a year's worth of material that asks us only to follow Christ as we are called to do via the embrace of our loving Mother, Mary. This book would be especially helpful for those without much time for 'spiritual reading'. The meditions take only a few minutes to read but their message does linger in my memory throughout the day or week. That's saying something considering how much devotional material we have to choose from. Finding a book that nourishes the soul for more than 5 minutes these days is an accomplishment in itself. If you have a devotion to Mary this book comes highly recommended.
