'Elv's Journey' takes place around 70 years from the present. The effects of climate change have swept the world (droughts, floods, wars, famine, and many deaths) and teenager Elv is part of a gang of hunter-gatherers. Elv becomes separated from the gang, and after a series of adventures, meets Josh and settles into his agricultural community. During her adventures Elv makes use of various real-life survival strategies (e.g. starting a fire using a lens). The importance of living simply and of loving relationships forms a background to the story.
