This book series is outstanding for young girls from about second or third grade on up through high school. I am an adult and have totally enjoyed reading these books; they have held my interest and are never boring. I am so excited to find books that instill the scriptures. I will share them with my grand-daughters and with other young friends.

Elsie is now married and returns to live with her husband Edward Travilla at his plantation Ion. She has some happy moments at Ion she has a baby girl and a boy. Then those happy moments end a war has begun. She along with her family go to England to live while the Civil War rages on. She and her family are very upset about the events going on. Then the Civil War ends and they go home. Their they find that everything has changed. Then they go home to the south.
