I would have loved to read this to my grandbaby but the pages are ripped out.
Very disappointed

I bought this book because it said good condition. I’m sad to say I’m very disappointed in the quality. Had I known I wouldn’t have made the purchase. There’s an entire page of flaps that have been pulled off in addition to others and it’s a short book.
Not in remotely good condition

One of the Best Toddler Lift-the-Flaps Board Books Out There!
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 19 years ago
Trust the 5 star rating this book has received by everyone! I have spent hours researching infant-toddler books in an attempt to foster my 16 mo. old's love of books. After spending major $$ and countless hours shopping for books, I have to say: This is absolutely one of the best interactive books we've ordered. It covers the concepts of numbers, letters, shapes, and opposites. The last page asks the reader to help Elmo search for a missing bear in his playroom. Children can look inside the piano, under an easel, etc. etc. to find it. Though some reviewers have noted that their young babies adore this book, I think it's more appropriate for the over 1 year old crowd. For one thing, it is super large board book. Young babies can't carry or manuever through the pages or flaps well. Secondly, while it's great to provide a numbers/letters introduction to babies, they will have a hard time focusing on the pages (they're very busy) and won't get much out of this book. In fact, while some younger infants (if they can open the flaps) will delight in looking under the number 10 to see the 10 bugs or lifting cookie monster's "full" bucket to see it "empty", they can't quite grasp these concepts yet. So, over all, this is a must-have to own for your 1 year-old and up. You can even purchase it early and then pull it out of the closet periodically to see if your kiddo is ready. Hope this helps. I'm off to search for more books by Anna Ross/Joe Mathieu.
Full of activities ... for hours of reading

This book is excellent. It covers all the bases--practice with numbers, letters, shapes, opposites and more while using everyday objects and favorite characters to "teach" them all. Plus, there's the fun of lifting the "flaps" to see what's behind many different objects--an activity of great interest to children. My son just loves this book (he's 18 months). He's a big fan of reading, and this certainly would be in his top 3 favorites. I just can't say enough about this book! (As a teacher, I have a great appreciation for how well this book is organized and what all it covers. Teaching and learning is a snap with materials like this!)
Elmo's Big Lift-and-Look Book

This book is one of my 17 month old daughters favorites. It is filled with lots of her Sesame Street favorites and is beautifully illustrated. The flaps in this book are big and sturdy and almost "tear proof" which I am sure will help to provide everyone in our family with many hours of fun.
This was my baby's favorite book for his first two years

We received this book before my baby was born. At first, he just loved looking at the pictures. Later, he learned to lift-and-look by himself. Then, I would ask him to find the shoes or the hot dogs to develop memory skills. Now, he's learning the alphabet when I say "Where is the 'E' for elephant?" Each night, we lift-and-look together and we talk about everything he sees.
The perfect gift for any child 2 and up!!!

My son received this book on his 2nd birthday and absolutely loves it to this very day (he is currently 3 1/2 yrs. old). It has helped him learn his numbers, colors, opposites and shapes in the most delightful way! The board pages have helped this book last this long with constant use. The lift-and-look flaps are intriguing to the readers and they really have FUN learning. I have purchased this book as gifts for birthdays and Christmas...it's a sure winner for toddlers and preschoolers
