Spend a colorful day with Elmo, Big Bird, Grover, Bert & Ernie, and the rest of your Sesame Street friends. Search 7 color-themed scenes for hidden characters and objects. Preschoolers can search, point, match, and compare all on their own - no reading required Then, turn to the last pages of the book for even more Look and Find activities that caregivers and children can enjoy together. Look and Find play encourages focus and exploration, and helps build early learning skills.
We got this book for Christmas for my daughter when she was 18 months old (2007). It was great as we traveled over the holidays to try out all the looking and finding on the various pages (each two-page spread has a box on the left side with a brief rhyme and pictures of the objects you're supposed to find in the main picture). It's helpful that, rather than "trickier" look and finds for older people, the objects pictured in the "find this" box look just like the objects in the larger "real" picture. Some pages are harder than others -- my husband and I had a hard time finding a couple of things in the parade picture on the first few readings -- but that keeps it interesting for the many times you and your toddler will read this. And you will. The back of the book also has pictures of the various Sesame Street characters featured, with suggestions for additional looking and finding/games to play with the book as your child grows. I like that it's a book that will "grow with her" in that way. I have recommended these look and find books to all of my friends with children ages 1 through 4: they're a lot of fun, and they help develop observation skills, besides the obvious educational component of learning the colors of items you're trying to find (red things on the Elmo page, blue on the Cookie Monster page...).
Wonderful book

I bought this book for my 20 month old twins based on a friends recommendation. They absolutely love the size and pictures/ colors in the books. We do story time at bed time with other books but this is one I leave laying around and they pick it up and point to things throughout the day and "read" it themselves. I see a lot of room to grow as we move beyond just naming the sesame street characters, balls and hats to actually using the tools listed in the back of the book for more advanced "looking and finding".

I bought a bunch of these Look and Find books for our daughter (including this one). She received one for her first birthday (Pooh) and that started the shopping trend. The bright colored illustrations and the suggestions at the back of every book on how to use the books to play different games are wonderful! Highly recommended for just about any age!

A great start for little ones into the "Look & Find" genre. Sturdy book with bright colors. I even bought a few to give to my daycare provider!
Out of things for her to find!

My almost 3 year old got this book for Christmas, and we read it EVERY day! In fact, we've read it so many times, I am completely out of things for her to find. I had to resort to "how many red balloons are there...?" questions. I'm back online buying other look and find books for her upcoming 3rd birthday. This book was a huge hit in my house.
