masterful plotting: surprises in both events and meanings

Wanted to post a review to balance that of another reader. Would agree with Kirkus Review that this is "a gem." The plotting is masterful, with several interesting twists, leading to thoughtful reflections by character and reader over how little we may recognize what is most important in our lives.
