This book provides excellent, sound advice on how to succeed on the wards by explaining basic procedures - e.g. how to write a preop, write transfers - and also exploring aspects of dealing with conflict with team-members. Written in the dark ages of medicine (1980's), it still has great advice that will help any struggling 3rd/4th-year medical student or intern navigate the hospital environment.

I never met a scut I liked, and I seriously doubt that I ever will. Who could like a scut, after all, they are scuts. When you're a scut you have to wear uncomfortable clothes, you have to stand a lot, and you almost never get to sleep.
