a little gem

Catholic theology needs basic treatments of post-Vatican II theology that avoid the ideological battles that so often bedevil the church. This short book is an outstanding exposition of what the church is (communion) and is for (mission), particularly well-balanced and clearly written. I think it would be equally acceptable to someone like Pope Benedict and someone of a very different theological stamp like, say, me. Lay theology courses and seminary classrooms would benefit enormously from using this book as a basic ecclesiology text.

Book Review

The book was required by an on-line course that I recently participated through the University of Dayton. The book was broad but yet conscise on the Mission of the Catholic Church. I would recommend this book for those seeking a basic understanding of the Catholic Church's Mission in the world.
