Everyone should read this!

I read the book and was amazed at the results. In just about 7 days since I read the book I can feel my energy levels increasing from an average of 4-5 a day to 6-8 a day. I sleep better and by making a few changes that Dr. Colbert recommends I am already on the road to eat this and LIVE. Thanks Dr. Colbert.

Key Principles to Healthy Eating

Don Colbert, MD, New York Times best selling author of "The Seven Pillars of Health." specializes in anti-aging medicine, nutritional, and preventative medicine. In his new book "Eat This and Live!" Dr. Colbert motivates and guides the reader with tips on how to make simple food choices that will enable them to feel better, look betters, and live longer. Mouth watering color pictures of tempting and tantalizing foods, good and bad choices, from every food group entice the reader to engage in and adapt the sound advice offered by Dr. Colbert in this fascinating guidebook. Dr. Colbert presents key principles for making better choices in menu planning at home at on when dining at your favorite restaurant. He also includes tempting tips for healthier kids. The comprehensive table of contents makes the book user friendly as the reader can quickly find areas of special interest, concern, and application. I found the chapter on antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals of especial value as I am trying to monitor these in light of prescription medications my doctor has suggested. "Eat This and Live" is written with a spiritual perspective with an emphasis on recognizing the mind-body-spirit connection. Colbert's prayer for the reader is that they will develop the determination and willpower to follow through in forming the eating strategies included in the book. And, that they will take care of their body, God's temple, while living a full and abundant life. Highly motivating, inspirational, and packed with valuable information for making better choices in your eating strategy. Superb!

Apply the knowledge

Dr. Colbert is an excellent person to consult on food for your life. It doesn't matter if you have cancer or diabetes, he can help you work through the good eating habits. And to top it off it is not hard to do. But like anything, you have to work at it. Excellent book, easy to read and understand. Highly recommend it.

Eat Well and Prosper

A good common sense book on how to eat right and live longer. Very easy to read and understand. Dr. Colbert drives home the point that if we don't follow his advise we are on the path to a life of illness and an early death. This book specifically tells us the results (both good and bad) of eating various foods. Excellent source of information on eating out and the damage that eating fast food is doing to our health. I am buying several additional copies to pass around to those I care about.

Everyone NEEDS to read this book!

This book is a MUST READ! I bought it the other day at the Family Christian Store and I have been unable to put it down since. There are so many great references as to why we should eat certain foods to live a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Colbert describes two types of foods- "The Living and the Dead foods". This really opened my eyes about many things. First God put everything here on this earth for us to enjoy. America has gotten so out of hand with eating JUNK that we really do need to get back to basics. This book was great in describing what foods have what nutrients and vitamins. Since reading it I have thrown away my Splenda packets that I put in my coffee every morning, my fat free whip cream because of the unhealthy oils, and I'm refusing to let my kids eat that junk as well. We have never been fast food junkies but we do have the occasional chickfila sandwich. I LOVE healthy foods and I have always been interested in eating healthy. I exercise and do the right things yet this book still had more to offer and taught me that much more about my health. It really was an inspiration and motivation to continue on with the things I know I should do. People don't understand fully that eating right isn't a "diet" it's a way of life. Are bodies weren't intended to have crap put in them. I keep my pantry stocked with healthy snacks (almonds, whole grains) and when you eat healthy you just feel better all over in every aspect of your life. Eat to live don't live to eat!
