A great variety in this book.

High quality glossy paper with great photos and a close up of the stitches for each afghan. I do think its a great book but not necessarily for someone just learning. Lots of color changes and detailed rows in these afghans. Most of the afghans are rated intermediate and maybe they are a bit overrated but I don't think they are for someone just starting out. With a bit of practice under your belt, this will be a great book to have. Lots of pretty designs to make and a nice section at the back on how to do the stitches, general crochet instructions, and the addresses and phone numbers of all the companies whose yarns were used to make the photos of each afghan. Especially nice for someone like me since I live in a town where there is a small selection of yarn no matter which store you go to. Overall, well worth the money for this book.

The Best of the Easy!

This book contains great color photos together with easily read instructions. After looking over the book, I could hardly wait to start an afghan. The first afghan I choose was one of the quickest afghans I had completed to date. The ease of creating this afghan did not take away from the impact of the finished product. I am delighted with the results and have already completed others. I found that the rating level in this book is a little overstated - all levels of crocheters should have no difficulties completing each afghan. The afghans offered in this collection have a good variety of styles from the lacey to the more masculine. The patterns are unique and have a good assortment of types: ripple, motif, all over pattern, striped, mile-a-minute, granny square and floral. The collection is divided into chapters which are well defined for their content; ie - "Fireside Warmers", Summer Breezes", "Baby Brights", "Just for Him" to name some. I believe that this book would be a welcome addition to anyone's collection. It will be great to use for the the last minute afghan gift and to facilite the ability to complete a wonderfully beautiful afghan in a relatively short period of time.
