Get Ready and Go!

This is a great little paperback with conversational starters, very useful vocabulary, internet links, colorful and I highly recommend it to the beginning-intermediate student of German language who has not yet had much experience in conversation. It also makes us of the "new" "official" German spelling, which I and some of my German friends are not fond of, but is a must for the future. After all, in the 1940s we all had to learn to read German in Roman text, after struggling with Fraktur script as it is sometimes called--but I still refer to my 1939 Cassell's for usage during the early 20th century. For the 21st century student, this book will make a good investment, and easy to carry and review on your first flight to Germany. Highly recommended, and I had several years of formal study, a stint at a Gymnasium, and several more recent trips to the unified state.
