Very good explanations of plant care.

Must Have Reference Book!

I have yet to met someone who wouldn't appreciate a healthy indoor plant. This book is excellent - it's concise, informative and written in a way even the most inexperienced plant owner can understand. It's worth buying just for the pictures alone! Come on, bring nature indoors!

a picture for every plant

This was a very informative book. I have never been a able to keep a plant alive before. Now people say I have a green thumb. My home and deck are full of healthy beautiful plants. Every plant,in the book, has a great photo and full discription of light needs and exact fertilizer times and needs. I have had a hard time finding a few of the fertilizers needed, so I may start tring some of the great fertilizer recipes given. Every thing needed is here. How to propigate, transplant, divide. A full list of discriptions of possible plant problems and the solutions. I would suggest this book to anyone as a great resource. As a matter of fact, I've lent it out a few times.(But I make sure to get it bact soon)

Need A Hobby, Get This Book

Most of us have time for only one thing nowadays, simplicity. This book simplifies caring for house plants. I still cannot find 20-10-10 plant food it recommends [for my aloe plant], but that's a small thing. I'll probably find it online.

Growing plants is easy after all!

I picked up Jack Kramer's book Easy-Care Guide to Houseplants at an Ace Hardware store when I was first attempting to grow some other houseplants besides the unkillable Devil's Ivy. As far as your basic guide to plant care goes, this is the stuff. I'm constantly thumbing through it when I need to figure out which plants would thrive best in a dark bedroom or a bright kitchen. Plus the photos are simply beautiful. Some of the highlights of the book include decorating with plants, choosing houseplants, growing herbs inside, picking the right containers, raising and grooming, propagating and understanding plant problems. This handy book also gives you step-by-step instructions on how to build your own knockdown growing stand.(...)

Excellent book packed with great info

This is an excellent book for learning to grow & care for houseplants. It is full-color and packed with photos. It is loaded with advice on basic care & propagation, as well as elimination of pests & diseases. I loved how it helped me choose a proper container for each plant & the appropriate room for its needs. I was also impressed that there were step-by-step instructions for installing supports for hanging plants & a growing stand. An indispensable plant glossary in the back lists the plants by family. A photo is included along with common name, scientific name, size, description & propagation methods. Light, soil, & temperature needs are also here. The differences between the plant families are explained as well & many of the plants that make them up are listed. It even gives you decorating hints. Before you buy any houseplants, you must read this book.
