THIS IS A GREAT BOOK WITH BEAUTIFUL, YET EASY AFGHANS. SOME BOOKS SEEM TO SHOW THE SAME PATTERNS YOU'VE SEEN A HUNDRED TIMES, THIS ONE HAS UNIQUE PATTERNS OR TWISTS ON OLD ONES. THE PATTERNS CALL FOR WORSTED WEIGHT, BULKY AND A LOT OF NOVELTY YARNS. I LOVE IT.

Excellent patterns! Was surprised, however, to see that ALL were done with (and call for) Plymouth yarn.
Very contemporary

There is something for all levels of knitting - from the easy ones to the difficult ones. The colors and styles are fairly contemporary. There is such a variety that you are sure to find a several that appeal to you. There is very little in the line of instruction, so you best know how to knit before purchasing.
Beautiful Designs with Easy-to-Follow Instructions

"Easy Afghans for Knitters" presents 67 beautiful afghan designs, all shown in a wide variety of Plymouth yarns. The afghan designs do indeed cover a range of knitting skills, with a large majority of the patterns requiring nothing more complicated than the knit and purl stitch. For the more experienced knitter, though, there are several lovely patterns featuring intarsia knitting and lace patterns. Almost all of the designs are written for knitting on circular needles, which is an excellent time-saving technique, eliminating the need for lots of finishing after the knitting is done. I am nearly finished with a really cute cotton afghan called "Smocking Stripes", then I'm ready to tackle one with cables. Another great feature of the book is that it comes with a spiral binding that allows the book to lie flat. This makes it particularly easy to refer to the pattern while knitting. The only reason that I do not give this book five stars is that a lot of the patterns are written specifically for yarns produced by Plymouth yarn, many of which are very hard to find and/or are very expensive yarns. For example: twenty-seven balls of a Plymouth mohair blend yarn (Le Fibre Nobil), plus an additional 21 balls of a Plymouth novelty lame yarn (Odyssey Glitz), are required to make the afghan called "Monet Miters Squares", one of my favorite designs in the book, as shown. The suggested retail price of each of these yarns is $10.99 per ball, so I won't be knitting this one in the specified yarns unless I win the lottery! Most of the other designs in the book, though, seem like they would lend themselves to substitution with other more easily available yarns. If you enjoy knitting afghans, then this beautiful book is sure to provide you with inspiration for many projects.
