Cool book!

GR8 to keep on hand for reference and Eastenders memorabilia isn't always so easy to find. I'm a HUGE Eastenders fan, so this was a GR8 addition to my collection:-)

Memories

This book is a nice way to get to know the characters for new E.E. fans. I however got it simply as a keepsake. I've been watching this show for the past fifteen years, and I'm hooked on the realness of Albert Square.

The Low Down on England's # 1 Soap Opera

Another confession, I am addicted to Eastenders. Why oh why do the Brits make TV sooo much better than we do? What makes Eastenders so great? Well, the main characters aren't a bunch wealthy idiots, in some fictional city at some fictional mega-corporation with too much time on their hands, too much perfect make-up who spend all day making goo-goo eyes at one another. In England, this soap is about the working class, struggling with their jobs at the local pub, the laundrymat, local small gorcery store, the cafe, etc. The women look like REAL women, they use a huge variety of people, you know, like you find in the actual world? Don't get me wrong, there are some very attractive women (and men as well!) on Eastenders, but they don't get all the airtime. This book is a super look at the past, which always plays a part in the current storyline, and helps new viewers understand some of the undercurrents between many of the characters. You should check out the show and this great history.

Fabulous EastEnders Resource!

This book is a must have for the EastEnders fan. It is very behind the times as far as what is currently going on on the show in Great Britain but it is a bit ahead from where I am in Central New York. Because of that I currently know a little more than I should about what is going to happen - and although that is kind of fun, it's a little disappointing too because I won't be surprised. However, I just loved reading this book - couldn't put it down. It gives you so much information on all "current" characters (at least from where I'm watching - it seems to be current through at least the beginning of 2000) and has a section about all of the old characters too (many of whom I really miss!). Anyway, if you're an EastEnders fan or someone who has just started to watch and is a bit confused, this is a great resource for you! Thoroughly enjoyable.

Great Eastenders Reference Guide

This book is a great reference guide for all Eastenders fans. Almost all characters - past and present - are shown in colour photos accompanied by a short character bio. Name of the actor/actress is also given, though there is no info given about the actor/actress. The beginning of the book also has a handy diagram layout of the buildings in Albert Square so you can get a feel for the proximity of the Cafe to the Queen Vic, etc. All character names are listed at the back of the book, along with page numbers for fast look-up. Some bios may contain spoilers depending on how up to date Eastenders is in your viewing area. This book is a very satisfactory guide to Who's Who in Eastenders.
