Old and Outdated

While reading this I became confused, (and I have studied nutrition for over 10 years). When I reached the part that Vitamin C can cause kidney stones, (even Harvard Health disagrees), I knew that I was reading a person with no real knowledge of health or supplements. Other things, the salt is bad for you and soy is the greatest plant food around means this man did no real research. At first I thought the man was a pharma plant til I looked him up on Wikapaedia. North Dakota State and some unaccredited school, and no reccomendations on the cover or inside his book. This man made a fortune rooking people. No wonder he got a name publisher. Real alternative medicine people like Thomas Levy MD, Carolyn Dean Md, David Brownstein MD and others don't get that luxury-but they are TRUELY HELPING PEOPLE! This book is going, torn up, straight into the recycle bin.

Outstanding Reference

This is the third time I purchased this book. Twice before, I loaned this book to others only to never see it again. This book is an excellent source for vitamin information.

Understanding vitamins

It is a Great book. Comprehensive information, but easy to understand by the novice. Easy to find information and recommendations. It is a must text-reference book to have. Use vitamins wisely. Lean about vitamin compatibilities and when to take them. You may be wasting the value of vitamins and your money.

good reference book

I would highly recommend this book to anyone , any age. Easy to use and has good information. This is an updated version of the original which I bought many years ago. I have given away 3 copies and now I will buy one more for me-again.

Excellent Guide for Health

I bought this book last week and it's excellent value for money. It has all the information about vitamins and herbs; it gives recommendations as well as warnings; advice about specific ailments, and so much more. I was surprised at the depth of information given. For example, my doctor told me that the herb known as horsetail helped halt osteoporosis when taken along with calcium. He also recommended boron. Nowhere else have I found confirmation of that information but this book mentions both. Unfortunately, you will not find horsetail listed in the index. That is the only complaint I have about the book that, occasionally, just occasionally, something was not listed in the index that was referred to in the text. If you care about your health, I recommend it. It's a no-nonsense book.

Very Helpful Information

I found this book to be very helpful in guiding my selection of vitamins and supplements that will fit my age and lifestyle. I wish there was more information given about various clinical studies however.
