I just checked this book out of the library and finished it. I have a son with dyslexia and this book explains better than any I have found the whole picture of dyslexia. It discusses the problems dyslexics face with writing, spelling, reading and letter reversals. It tells of the problems they have with self esteem, family issues they have with their parents and siblings, even covering peers. The book also talks the testing process, what tests are done on a child to determine if they are dyslexic and how testers come to that conclusion. The stories of all the children in the book are very interesting. What I liked best about the book is how it talks about the non-academic aspects of being dyslexic, the problems that they have with orientation, direction and organization that make dyslexia difficult in life, not just school. I plan to buy a copy of this easy to read book to loan to my son's teachers at the beginning of each school year to help them really understand.
