Dying to Tell: The Hidden Meaning of Adolescent Substance Abuse
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 17 years ago
This book was very insightful. For a christian, it is a wonderful view into the world of christian raised teens who take a path involving alcohol and drugs even though it is against their upbringing. It provides answers for parents, counselors, church workers and youth ministers as to why some choose to use and how to respond to these choices. It also turns the "pointing finger" back at you,the parent or church, to make you see how possibly you could have contributed to this choice and how to stop "pushing" teens. The book explains how the world has become a pharmaceutical dependant culture, many now relying on all types of substances to take away the pain. The book provides some scientific findings on who uses and why, and what backgrounds most contribute to this choice among teens. I very much recommend this book.
