Great!!!

If you are thinking of starting to read "cozy mysteries" Maggie Sefton is the author to begin with. This is just another great book by Sefton. From "Knit one, Kill Two" to "Dyer Consequences" her characters grow. And you grow to like them more and more. They "feel" real. It is really inconvient that one has to wait for the next one. But then, it is well worth the time when you have that new one in your hands. This is a really fun read and the ending is always a suprise.

Getting better with each book

Dyer Consequences is the fifth book in the Knitting Mysteries series and we now see the blossoming of the characters. The previous books were good, predictable mysteries but Dyer Consequences shows us that the characters are more complex and can exhibit behavior and thoughts more in line with reality. Kelly Flynn finally allows a mature relationship with Steve which was too long in development (she had agonized over even dating or kissing him in the other books). Other relationships also are more adult and the conversation seems more realistic this round. I liked this book the best so far and look forward to finishing Fleece Navidad.

i really like this series of knitting mysteries - this one was no exception - you feel like you're really getting to know the characters in each book - looking forward to the next book in the series!

Loved it...and I can't wait for the next one!

A friend loaned me the second (Needled to Death) and third book (A Deadly Yarn) in this series. I was immediately hooked, and just had to purchase the first book (Knit One, Kill Two). I of course ordered the fourth in the series (A Killer Stitch) as soon as it came out...and waited impatiently for Dyer Consequences to be released. I read it in two days - I didn't want to put it down. As with the other books in this series, I am immediately drawn into this warm group of friends who help each other no matter how busy their lives may be. So refreshing! As a knitter, I love the detailed picture Maggie paints for us as she describes the yarns in the shop, and the projects everyone is working on. In no time, you feel as though you know these people. I've e-mailed Maggie and told her how I appreciate her writing talents - making me feel like I can picture the scenes unfolding as if they were playing on a movie or television screen. The stories are fun, thrilling, and leave you wanting more. Maggie is a terrific writer, and seems to be very appreciative of her readers. Even if you're not a knitter, you will enjoy these stories. Get this one, and I promise you'll want to order all of the previous books in the series to catch up with Kelly and her pals!

Dyer Consequences

I have personally enjoyed the entire series about Kelly and her pals! I live in the area where all the action takes place and have been in the shop called "House of Lambspun". So, for me, this is very exciting and I find Maggie's tales intriguing. She has the ability to intertwine plots from book to book and if you are paying attention, you will see this. Some people do not enjoy "cozy" mysteries and should not read them. The rest of us will enjoy them and talk about the plots and how we think they might ultimately turn out. The fact that Maggie is able to make the reader feel immediately drawn into the Lambspun "fold" at the beginning of each book is a real talent. That is why many of us read the cozy genre. Each adventure is new, but the cast of characters become like friends and family and the reader cares about them and their various problems. Yes, it is fantasy, but isn't that why many of us read___to stimulate our imaginations and get away from the usual cares of the day? The fact that the reader can enjoy trying to put the puzzles of mysteries together is one of the great joys in life and Maggie gives us all that opportunity. Keep going, Maggie, and let us enjoy the ride!
