Each engraving is accompanied by a Latin hymn or poem that reflects on the spiritual significance of the depicted event, such as the Nativity, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection. The engravings are remarkable for their intricate details, vivid colors, and emotional intensity, and have been praised as masterpieces of Baroque religious art.
