dumped

I've been dating my boyfriend for two years now, and we've been dating on and off, but I have never been officially dumped. I have this book, just in case something happened, because I have never delt with a situation like that. This book has tips and teaches you how to cope with being dumped when 1) he is dumping you 2) you see him after you've been dumped 3)how to get your revenge. This book adds humor, which you really need after something like that.

Dumped! :(

Dumped is a cute little book that not only offers funny tips to help you cheer up, but also practical advice about managing the normal and painful feelings that accompany heartbreak. The book is practical, but also has a sweeter and lighter side--One of my favorite parts of the book is a section of song titles and artists that are good "angry" music to rock out to! The book not only addresses the literal feelings of being dumped, but more importantly how to eventually move on. Thumbs up!

An amazing tween survival guide!

dumped is just another book that i wish that i had access to a few years ago when i was just figuring out this whole dating world and how it works. We all remember our first break up and of course is interesting to know that your not the only one who has particular feelings when you get broken up with. Again a good reality check about the fact that your not the only one with the funny quotes. Would definitely recommend it to a friend. -Lisa ,NY, 16

A Book for Girls of All Ages

You're not fully human until you've had your heart broken. An adult friend told me this once in my callous youth and I didn't get it until I got it (or them: my walking papers). This book gets it. I was curious about Dumped after having read Crush by Conley. The first one seemed to work a balance between dishy enthusing and genuine respect for strange feelings. Dumped may be even better by balancing some lighter, indulgent rituals with a sincere and respectful voice. Laughing through the tears, if you will -- a life skill best learned young. Because of this underlying principle, this book is solid enough for girls of all ages. Wonder if this publisher has considered a similar series for boys -- they fall as hard and if presented well, might be interested (if on the sly).

The Perfect Post-Breakup Primer

"Dumped" is great for helping us all deal with the inevitable breakup. The best tips like "don't call your ex" and "don't call his friends," are KEY. Many of us like to dissect and re-dissect every blasted moment in order to search for tell-tale signs indicating the relationship was headed for Splitsville, population = you! The book points out the big indicators like "he picked fights about stupid things," "you hardly ever held hands or kissed anymore," "you seemed to be the only one texting and emailing," "he suddenly got way too busy for you," and so on. "Dumped" seems a bit different than other breakup guides because it actually has a whole chapter dedicated to letting you mope around. Usually most books want you to get right back out there, so it's refreshing to see a book admit that you might want to wallow in self-pity for a few months before wanting to read all those tips on how to pick yourself up again. And it really goes though the steps you'll be feeling and why -- Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. I also really liked the music and movie lists the offered as things to listen to, read or watch when you're sad and angry. The "Play 'Em and Weep" list had everything from Badly Drawn Boy and Beck to Johnny Cash and The Beatles.
