Dryads are tree spirits that take human form, and come from Greek mythology. This is a collection of short stories mostly about Jennifer Oaks, a dryad, who is also a forester for a large timber products company. As such she brings scientific training to what her instincts tell her. But she has to balance two different worlds, that of the dryads and the trees, and that of a forester who views trees as a crop. It is no easy task.
