The ONE title you need for drug reference

Forget the PDR, this text is the 'bible' of pharmacists in theUSA (I'm one of them). For home use, the paperback edition veryhandy. The accuracy and objective information is excellent. END

The book US pharmacy students know best..use most often

This is what I wrote in recommending this for a NZ polytechnic library that teaches nursing...from a US librarian serving a pharmacy school:This would have been useful today for a midwifery who had a list of drugs for which she needed mechanism of action, side effects, and generic name. This is a book that in the US pharmacy students already know about before coming to school if they have worked in a pharmacy...and I am always amazed how often the answer shows up here ....is the only place with such good "comparisons". While it is US, the information is useful anywhere. The looseleaf version is available..you don't want this, you want the annual bound volume if you decide to purchase it.

excellent pocket size booklet for drug informations

I bought already 2 versions ,1996 and 1997 and they are very helpful in reviewing drug informations... i need the newest one for 1999

Comprehensive Resource for pharmaceutical information.

This volume of over 4,000 pages lists drugs by classification, explains the mechanisim of action (including, in many cases, the basic pathophysiology and philosophy of treatment)of drugs and drug groups. It addresses the pharmacology and pharmacokinetics of drug classes, provides a color locator (like the PDR), and also provides sections listing investigational drugs and in vitro lab testing modalities. Drugs are listed by generic and brand names and are designated as to whether they are confined to prescription or OTC. Naturally, dosage and overdosage issues are included as well as drug interactions, favorable and unfavorable. This is an excellent book for anyone involved with the health care profession and the prescribing of drugs. I most highly recommend it.Reviewed by an M.D.

Excellent resource for pharmacists and doctors. CONCISE.

I have used "Facts" for the last 8 years as my number place of reference. This book has excellent charts comparing classes of drugs. A must for the professional health care provider (especially pharmacists) or pharmacy student. Too much information for most, but as a pharmacist it's perfect.
