Having known Piet for 10 years now I have been fortunate enough to bear witness to his unique storytelling style in many venues. Whether it is spoken from atop a sawed off dock piling in P.A. or craftily typed from a laptop on Easy St., the substance of Piet's stories always grab those who read or listen and hold on to them until all their senses are satisfied. He is very thorough in detail and makes it easy to follow with the terse natue of each chapter. I thought the imagery was great throughout this story as well as his descriptions of the settings. His characters were great; real people, the kind of people that you find on boats and in less reputable bars; the kind of folks I like. Why, I can see ol' Dan Larsen stumbling down the steps of the disco right now......Pretty Work Piety and thanks for mentioning the 'Tequila Tree', I'm looking forward to your next work! JJ
"Move Over Dirk Pitt"

I have read all of the Tom Clancy and Clive Cussler books, and I enjoyed "Dropback" as much as any of them. The protoganist Dan Larson is a likable superagent-fisherman who always gets the most beautiful girls and the baddest bad guys. The book is set in high-energy tropical resort settings from Palm Beach to the Mexican Riviera. This book has it all! Sex: Dan Larson wouldn't be a self-respecting superhero if he didn't have at least a few love interests. Drugs: Hundreds of kilo's, all you want. Action: There is enough special forces action and high-tech mahem to satisfy diehards. Fast Boats, Huge Fish, Beautiful Women.... I highly recommend the book.
Great combo of Sportfishing and Action in the Drug World

This book captures the essence and thrill of sportfishing and combines it with a non stop action adventure. The detail of the drug rings and their leaders creates such a vivid picture in my mind I feel like I am there. Having been to the parts of Mexico and Palm Beach he describes in the book I feel like I am back there as he writes. The book accurately portrays the drug cartel slayings in Juarez, Mexico earlier this year. The book does such a good job of describing the lives of the drug cartels it brings the a great feeling of reality to the story.I highly recommend for anyone who fishes or wondered what sportfishing is all about.Cannot wait for the next book. Great job Piet!
Drugs and danger

From the very first page I was captured. Few authors have captured the twisted and evil mind of the drug king. None stop excitement. The combination of exotic Mexico and fish filled Mexican waters combined with beautiful women and drug dealers makes for one very exciting setting for the none stop excitement of Dropback. Not until the very last page did the auther reveal the outcome. Truly exciting book. Looking forward to the movie.
