Action Packed

Debut novel by Kate Angelo with Lynette Eason in her Elite Guardians series. This was non-stop action from the very beginning. Bodyguard, Christina Sherman is hired to protect Grey Parker's WMD, Boss, while Grey undergoes surgery to try and restore his ability to walk. Someone wants Boss and is willing to kill Grey and anyone else who gets in his way to do it. This story brought in other characters from the Elite Guardian series and introduced some new ones. It fit very well into the series. It is full of action, suspense, romance, humor, and intrigue. I can't wait to read the next book in the collection.

heart-pounding suspense

Kate Angelo really knocks it out of the park with this inaugural book in the Elite Guardians Collection. Fans of Lynette Eason's original Elite Guardians series will fall in love with the new additions to the protection agency as well as savor the time to catch up with the characters from previous books. Filled with action, adrenaline, sweet romance, and faith that withstands trials, Driving Force is a must-read for all romantic suspense lovers. The villain of the story was not difficult to pick out but the motive definitely took twists and turns to unravel. It was a refreshing surprise that the alpha male hero of the book is in a wheelchair and is actually less alpha than I imagined. Yes, Grey is ultra-protective and still skilled with his special ops background but he's also tender, sweet, sensitive, thoughtful, and affectionate. His interactions with his canine partner Boss and his family members are indeed memorable and heart-warming. His soft side rounds out the rough and prickly edges of Christina, who's been standing alone for most of her life because it's too hard to let people in. Boss is a fabulous main character and really steals the show. It looks like Charlie and Lizzie's story is next - we've all waited a long time for this one! I received the book from the publisher and via JustRead Publicity Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

Fast-paced Romantic Suspense

Kate Angelo has done a bang-up job with her installment for the new Elite Guardians Collection, a spinoff of sorts of Lynette Eason’s Elite Guardians series. Driving Force is an action-packed romantic suspense story with strong characters and an adorable dog. I liked the heroine, Christina Sherman, and the hero, Grey Parker, but the dog, Boss, was my favorite. I’m a dog lover, what can I say. Christina is a former Special Ops Sniper who finds herself guarding a dog. This provides a few moments of levity. Grey is a former Special Forces Air Commando, who was injured in a raid after being exposed to a nerve toxin. Grey is a person with a disability, which is a refreshing plot line. The pace is quick and there is a nice faith element in it that I enjoyed. Angelo has captured the essence of the original series and I’m looking forward to reading more books by her in the future. I received an ARC for review; however, I have ordered the eBook.
