Leigh Writes The Best Romance Novels

Drew was a Fantastic book I mean I loved it, Drew was a Wild West Show Sharpshooter which was a good climax. She is such a hilarious character in the whole series, Anyways this book was great and Cole was a great character too. I am Very looking forward to more of Greenwood's books.

It Got Me

I don't normally read romance novels because i thought all of them were like Harlequin-no plot (sorry if you like them). This turned my opinion around fast. I flew through this book fast, laughing more than any novel i've read. I'm also a fan of the seven brides series. This book is really good...sorry i'm not good with words like Greenwood is. I enjoyed this book and if this type of genre is your favorite, i recommend it.

Another Winning Cowboy

I am an avid reader of series fiction. I love meeting new characters while hearing about old ones. I got the best of both worlds in "Drew." I enjoyed the growing relationship between Drew and Cole and hearing more about Jake and Isabelle (from the first "Cowboys" book) and even getting a chance to visit with George and Rose Randolph from Leigh Greenwood's first series "Seven Brides." I highly recommend "Drew" to anyone who loves historical western romance and revisiting beloved characters.

Skillfully Told Story that Holds You in Its Grip

In a recent interview, Leigh Greenwood said that it just about killed him to write three books (this one included) in quick succession. Despite the stress, when came to writing the next installment of his series, "The Cowboys," he has surpassed his already considerable skill as an author and given us one fantastic story! So apparently, he writes well under pressure. If you are a writer who aspires to become a published author I suggest you read "Drew" very carefully. The admonishment for all writers to "show, don't tell" is demonstrated, if you are unclear on the meaning of the concept. Greenwood doesn't say, "Drew felt angry and betrayed," he shows it by crafting one of the most powerful scenes I have ever read, where markswoman Drew just about shoots the hero's clothes right off his body! Not only are we taken into the heart and soul of both the central characters, but we also are immersed in the culture of the mid to late 1870's and to know more about the itinerant wild west shows which toured the United States during that time. But I don't want to forget that Leigh Greenwood also writes with a sense of humor. There are moments when I just had to chuckle. I've read all of his "Seven Brides" and "The Cowboys" series: Greenwood's characters and stories are memorable, because they are about human beings struggling to come to terms with life and love. I'm not sure I can convey the depths of feeling that reading this book generated for me, other than to admit that perhaps I identified with Drew, who could be described as an early feminist: a woman who struggled to maintain her independence at a time when society wasn't all that supportive of strong women. This book is a "keeper!"

Drew

Simply the Best in the "Cowboy"series so far! A real insite to the characters lives and will have you anticipate the others to come. Still able to understand wihtout reading the other books in the series but once you see "inside" the character Drew you will not be able to read just one. I have read several books by this author and am amazed at the ability to bring characters to life. A must in the romance department!
