Trudy Friend is a very good artist and is accomplished is several different media. This book shows some beginning attempts at drawing animals and then critiques them to show how to improve them. She explores graphite, color pencil, pastels, and watercolor. It is very informative. I'm sure to improve my skills as I practice her practical pointers.

Very useful book for the fledgling artist

I bought this book after struggling to draw birds. While it does not focus specifically on birds, it does cover many different mediums and teaches a few simple techniques that are invaluable to any artist, whether they paint or draw animals, landscapes or humans. While this book does not specifically deal with the subject of digital painting and drawing, many of the techniques within can be adapted to a digital format. I highly...
