In this step-by-step guide, Lee Hammond reveals secrets that will help you turn your drawings into professional-looking fashion illustrations. You'll start with the basics - like how to draw the human... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Let me start by saying that I have learned so much from Lee Hammond!!! She is a tremendous artist and teacher. She truly tries to teach you what she knows in her drawing books. I have several of her books. . . This book focuses on drawing fashion. It repeats information from other books of hers on drawing hands, facial features, and fabric with its folds. . . . I was disappointed with the book, because it claims to show how to how to give your models expressive features and fashionable hair styles. She shows how to draw 5x8 portraits, but doesn't touch on how to do the facial features of a 8 inch tall person. . . A completely different task and talent. It does have new info with the accessories and special effects, but much of the information in the book I have in other books by Lee.

This is a very handy reference to use while sketching people. It offers plenty of information and gets right to the nuts and bolts of getting the artwork done right. While other books seem to be filled with the author trying to entertain this one is filled with the author trying to explain and teach. Recommended.

I found this book to be a incredible help in my art work. I have spent hours in book stores looking at books on pencil art work instruction on drawing people. Among all the books I looked at I found nothing that comes close to Lee Hammonds technique in the use of shading. I also am a photographer and I understand the importance of light values which Lee stresses in her teaching which creates such a realitic look to your drawings.I am so thankful I came across this book. Lee Hammond states in the acknowledgments of the book she could not find any source or school to teach her the style and pencil technique she teaches so she turned to self-teaching. I also purchased her book "How To Draw Real People" this book has also given me some great ideas to add to my drawings of people. I am in the process of purchasing some of her other books as well on sketching animals. Thanks Lee for sharing your artistic talent!
More Than Just Fashion

Although I am not interested in drawing for Fashion Model purposes, I found this book to be very helpful. I have been drawing for many years. I have always struggled with portrait and figure drawing. This book gives a formula for figure drawing and facial features by using basic shapes, measuring distance and by graphing. I also found the lessons on drawing fabric and fabric patterns to be helpful. I feel I have been able to finally break through my weakness and round out my drawing abilities. Thank you Lee Hammond.
