I enjoyed the book, but the conflict felt a bit forced. Also there were times when the author was a bit too present in the story for me. A little overdramatic in parts, but if your like doctor stories give it a read.
Best Friends Become Lovers
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 22 years ago
One night of passion between two best friends results in a night of consequences. In the final book of Kristi Gold's Marrying an M.D. series, social worker Cassie Allen and Dr. Brendan O'Connor agree to a marriage of convenience after realizing they're about to be parents. But when the couple learns that Cassie is having twins, Brendan's overprotective instincts take over. Cassie realizes she's in love with Brendan, but knows that he's holding back. Only after he reveals a devastating secret, one that has driven his career as a doctor, can the couple come to terms with the roadblocks in their marriage. This story of two best friends determined to be good parents to their unborn children tugs at the reader's heart. Cassie and Brendan are wonderful characters, making this book a page-turner. But I have to admit that reading "The End" was bittersweet for me--because it was the final book in Kristi's fabulous Marrying an M.D. series. A must-read.
