An informative book about Special Forces

Mr. Couch has provided a look into the actions of the US Navy SEALS in the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. For security reasons the missions are described in a very broad sense without a lot of details, which is as it should be. He also gives us a glimpse into the trainig and organization of this elite force. These are well trained, brave warriors who deserve recognition for the job they do. It is a well written book, right to the point and worth reading if only to find out how tough the war on terrorism really is.

Couch is the best when it comes to the SEALS

If your interested in the Navy SEALS then do yourself a favor. Read Warrior Elite, Finishing school, and then Down range. No other author that has had the access Captain Couch has had can describe the training, philosophy, and the operations of the Navy SEALS as vividly as he can. I highly recommend all three books.

Down Range is right on target

Very engossing! Read it in one sitting! The Navy Seals taking the fight to the terrorists on land, sea and in the air. Some great stuff: First time American and German forces worked together on the same team - ever, first guys into Afghanistan after 9/11, the capture of a high ranking Al-Queda leader, lots more. A very revealing view of the enemy down the gunsight of the Seals' M4 weapon.

This guy is awesome

It didnt take me long to finish this one. It was so hard to put down. Definately my favorite book on the War on Terror. I don't know how he gets the inside scoop like he did but...he did. This is a book for anybody who is interested in the military or the war on terror. These guys are 100% professional. It talks a lot about their training and goes into good detail about CQD(Close Quarters Defense) Really fantastic book. Pick it up.

Couch Gets It Right Again

Dick Couch immerses himself in the SEAL culture once again. A straight foward, non bravado telling of the elite naval commandos and their first journey inland into the harsh mountains of Afghanistan. With quotes and commentary from the first, second, and third toured SEALS, the book retians a "front of the lines" account on this hunt for Al-Queda and Taliban as the SEALs journey down range, and into harms way.
