Great starter reading.

Excellent reading material for a child that is just learning to read. Great Dora the Explorer charater to encourage children to read about her adventures. Cute carrying case so you don't misplace your books.

Great to Teach Preschoolers to read

My daughter, like many other 3 year olds loves Dora. This book set has captivated her since she got it. There are 12 softcover stories. Each introduces a different phonics sound and uses words with that sound. The words are listed in the back for easy review. They are about 12 pages each with an illustration on the left and text to the right. They are very colorful and the stories are based on the series but are shorter. My daughter has most of all the books memorized.I would have given it 5 stars but it isn't very durable. I've had to tape the books back together and the handle keeps popping out of the box which holds all the books. The set is old and gets used frequently so I guess it's normal wear and tear. Excellent for any 2-5 year old who loves Dora.
