Buy it!! it is very good

The issue is that there are times when we say yes when we really want to say no. The example given clearly falls in place if you have personally felt the pinch of saying yes when you wanted to say no. It takes a little time to practise it. The handbook should have been with it to make a practical book a part of a daily routine.Buy it since you will need to be reminded about it!!!

Good eye-opener!

One of the books I read in my beginning of professional life to improve myself. The inspiration was my room-mate that time (I forgot his name) who was having this book. As I was a soft guy (now also I think), I was finding it difficult to survive sometimes in a tough environment. Indeed the book was a good eye-opener and I could find myself getting improved. Certain thoughts were really astounding: You have to be assertive and aggressive depending on what the situation warrants. The practical application of what was discussed in the book was when I went to the canteen in my company to have food when I was working late hours. Although it was my mistake to go late for food, the cook said that the curry got over but I was really aggressive enough to demand for an alternative. I patted my shoulders myself for my behavior.Really a book worth reading once. Good eye-opener.

Best book for Assertiveness Training

this is one of the best book of my life.I read this along with "How to Win friends and influence people" by D. Carnegie and felt great. It is really really a great book, very practical. If u can practice the exercises adviced here (ie, going to a shop and ask for a change without buying anything), you would surely become a confident person.best luck!buy it!

Very useful - for standing up for yourself, in a daily life

I found this book, very useful. To some extent, it helped me to shape my character. I feel stronger now, while dealing with tricky issues, both at work and with friends. Try to finish the whole book and be patient. You should try to use some of the techniques in real life, to see any change. You will have a chance to understand that being humble, all the times, doesn't necessarily make you are a nice person. You should respect yourself first, before expecting some one would respect you.

A happy way to live your life - assertive training

I read this book more than 10 years go. I enjoyed reading it. I can still remember the exitment that I fell. We live for ourselves. The book teaches us that what we deserve and what we are not responsible for. As I was grown up in a Chinses society, where the recognition of individual rights was not a tradition. This book help me much in strengthen my self recognition in my life.
