Exceptional and inspirational

A friend once told me that in times of personal struggle, it is necessary to step out of yourself and shift your focus on to others. I have just finished reading "Doing Good Works" and the amount of inspiration contained in it is truly remarkable for such a small sized book. It combines both of the authors mutual and unique experiences in life with a desire to convey to the reader how simple it is to make that conscious shift from being a prisoner of mind to that of being a master of mind and to help others in the process. A unique apprach in its intent to show practical ways of making a difference in life from small or even big acts of kindness. Not suprisingly, often times it really comes down to small things, actually there is no proper measure for giving, this book has really affirmed the fact that we are all in a position to give something and that it does not have to be of a material nature but something that is not so tangible yet a most treasured resource like time. The authors have succeded in blending themselves within this book without talking too much about themselves but have remained true to the title from page1. I was priviliged enough to speak personally with Bryan who is one of the authors and really enjoyed sharing some of our mutual views, a really great and inspiring person, I cannot get enough of meeting or talking to people who dedicate their time to making this world a better place to live in. If someone gave me a book like this perhaps five years ago, it would have been collecting dust on a shelf but life has forced me to change and embrace the truths that surround us. Having these bits of wisdom in a book like this, not only reminds you of the simplicity of the raw action that is needed to change but also reaffirms some of the old lestons that we may have forgoten down the line. Thank you for writing this book, it has just the right amount of everything and I will proudly keep it with my James Allen, Tony Robbins, Vince Peale, Napoleon Hill and many other light workers of humanity

Jeanne in a Bottle

ATTENTION ALL HUMAN KIND A "Jeanne in a bottle" has been discovered! Become the Jeanne! A book of action, just open "Doing Good Works" and feel the energy jump off the pages. I found myself saying, "I could do that, that I could do". Who would have thought that a short little book (136 pages) could actually create enough energy to change the world? This book directs readers toward the "Jeanne" with in each of us and challenges us to awaken that Jeanne. It can change a person, a community, state, country and even the world. Every community would benefit from the ideas in this book I love how the book reminds us that what sets us apart from all other living creatures is our humanity. Small random acts of kindness do make a big difference for everyone involved. No other living creature is capable of such a seemingly simple act. Each one creates positive energy and builds momentum and who doesn't want more of that?

This Book Overdelivers and Inspires!

This book is truly an inspiration. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop! The idea boxes interspersed were great at inspiring a whole new way of thinking about giving. I'm already involved with charitable activities and I try to be as positive as I can every day, but this book inspired me to redouble my efforts and look at how else I can help. One hint to get the most out of this great book: when it says to do something, don't just read about it and think about doing it -- actually do it. For example, the exercise on page 64-65 is much, MUCH more effective when you actually list everything like it says to. You realize just how much difference you could make, and then you start to get really excited and motivated. Same goes for the other exercises, ideas and hints dropped all throughout the book. Great book. Buy it. Read it. Put it into practice.

This book could really make a difference.

This book could actually make a difference in the world. Maybe it already is making a difference. It really finds a balance between being optimistic and being realistic. It doesn't come off as cheesy or cliche'. It looks at real situations and what we can do to improve the world without going broke or giving up our lives. My favorite part is the lists of things you can do to change the world broken down in divisions of the time or money you invest: things you can do in one minute or less, five minutes or less, or for $1 or less, $5 or less, etc. That's what we need, a guide to managing the little things we can do to help others and not sacrifice more than we can afford. I have not seen any other book that takes this realistic approach.

A Guide to Changing the World

I recently finished Doing Good Works after it was recommended to me by a friend. I was deeply touched by the book's message. It promotes peace, love, and respect through charitable works that are easy to do, and take little time or money. It is a practical guide to anyone who is looking to make a difference in a world that needs positive change. I would definitely add this to your summer reading list. -Nate- Pittsburgh, Pa
