I have pictures of me walking the Appalachian Trail. I've seen them, so I know I was there, but I'm not sure what happened along the way. I have vague memories of a cursed ring and a long, dangerous journey to a distant mountain to destroy the ring. I know that happened, unless I've mixed up my memories with something I read somewhere. I walked the A.T. with a hippie from north Georgia named Davis. Or maybe it was David. Now that I think about it, his name wasn't Davis or David, and he wasn't from north Georgia. It's too late to change my book, so I'll stick with Davis from North Georgia. I drank a lot back then, so my memory isn't reliable. The things I can remember aren't that exciting, not something you'd want to read about. So, I've thrown out most of what I can remember and replaced it with better memories. What's left is a journey to destroy a cursed ring, complete the Appalachian Trail, and be sober as infrequently as possible.
