This book is good for preschoolers or young children. The stories are short, simple and the pictures are big.

Wonderful book for preschoolers

My 3 year old loves this book! The stories are short and sweet and my daughter laughs at the punchlines. She memorized each story and likes to "read" them to me. Dog and Bear, two friends three stories is also terrific!Dog and Bear (Neal Porter Books) (Boston Globe-Horn Book Award Winner-Best Picture Book) (Awards))

Simple and Satisfying

There's something so simple about the three stories in "Dog and Bear: Two's Company", yet each speaks perfectly to a toddler and leaves plenty of room for discussion and play based on the stories. My toddler, age 2.25 years, can't get enough of this book and already has each story memorized. The tale of the birthday cake is particularly intriguing to her. The last story has gotten her thinking about compassion and caring, and I find her play-acting this story with her plush animals. The colors are bright, the illustrations are clean and uncomplicated, the text is easy and very understandable for 2-3 year olds. A winner of a book!

My granddaughter loves it.

This book is the second in a series, the first also being named, "Dog and Bear." Both books contain small and simple episodes (I don't think they are complex enough to be called stories) in the lives of Dog and Bear. My granddaughter is 2 and a half and had essentially memorized the first book. The second book gave her more dimension with the same characters she loved and I think these two books are her personal favorites as she can completely understand the relationship between the two friends, Dog and Bear.
