Well-written, easy to understand - NY specific + more

There are no accidents: I met the author of this book when she had just received her first copies from the publisher; I was floundering trying to get accurate information about what to do, when and how to do it. Lawyers, legal referrals, community organizations and friends were trying to "help" by offering advice, much of it well-intended but inaccurate and COSTLY, both in the short- and long-term.Linda Power's book is easy to read, well-organized, well-written, has excellent cross references, and nudges of positivism throughout: it has been both a life and time saver.
