While some of the plot was predictable(we all know that a man who appears to be a fop in a regency is actually honorable and working for his country), the way the author dealt with the issue of divided loyalty in newly-formed America was enjoyable and even educational. There was a lot of chemistry between the hero and the heroine(it sizzled, even though the book relationship remained chaste). I really liked the hero Nate and heroine Judith and their romance developed in a realistic way. Secondary characters like Simon, Judith's father, and Patrick, the orphaned Irish boy, were likeable as well and made me care about what happened to them. I would re-read this book again and would like to read more by this author if they are available.
