Take it with a grain of salt.

Katy was 14 when she first met Jake, he was her friend and pillar of support from then on. Eventually friendship developed into love and it was just a matter of waiting till she was old enough, and then waiting for her to get out of school. When she finally gets out of school she accidentally finds Jake and her stepmother together, and her stepmother alluding to the fact that they'd slept together before and when Jake marries Katy, they'll have the perfect cover. Without telling him the real reasons why, she goes to Paris to college and then sends him a letter saying she'd met someone else. Four years later and a now successful model, Katy is ready to hang it all up and go back to her first love as a china designer in her father's company. She meets Jake again and due to her father's bad investments and messy divorce settlement, the company is about to fold. Jake blackmails her into his bed by promising to help the company and Katy agrees. Even though it becomes obvious to the reader that Jake's actions are all to do things that he thinks Katy wants, to Katy it's a mystery why Jake is doing things that he wouldn't normally do and she thinks instead that he's trying to publicly humiliate her. Jake is such a cute character that you just have to love him. He's confused and he doesn't really know what to do to get her back. Katy has a backbone and even though she lets Jake hurt her she refuses to let him destroy her. This is my second Jacqueline Baird book and both books left open a grain of doubt. I like my stories to be neatly tied up usually, but I find it interesting if a little frustrating. Jake's explaination about her step-mother makes you feel that he's leaving something out, not only that but Katy also thinks to herself, what about this? but in the end winds up trusting that he's telling her the truth. Overall I thought the story was cute and funny. I'd definitely read it again if only because I loved the characters so much.

Dishonourable Proposal

This book is my favorite romance novel of all times. I have read this book many times. I love the way that the male character is so in love with the female character from start to end.
