Book Overview

"She's like a modern-day, southern-fried Erma Bombeck or Dave Barry." -- Booklist Is the brand sticker still affixed to your saut pan? Is your wok used solely as a receptacle for potato chips? Does your blender only see the light of day when Baccardi or Tequila is involved? If so, then welcome to the Kitchen Virgin Club. But don't despair--you're in the illustrious company of Susan Reinhardt: syndicated columnist, spokeswoman for skewed southern bellehood...

dishing with the kitchen virgin

Susan Rhinehardts' latest is the best yet. She is real competition for Irma bombeck and Dave Barry. I have met Susan personally and can attest she is just as zany in person Tom Nielsen

Uncover This Dish!

If you want to tickle your tastebuds and your funny bone, this book will do that double-duty. Susan whips up some hilarious over-the-top true stories of kitchen disasters and culinary casualties--including the hazards (and benefits) of CWD: Cooking While Drunk. I loved Susan's other books, but this one is really special to me because she included my Murphy's Slaw story and my All Sex All The Time Diet. Besides the stories there are some great QUICK & EASY recipes. Yes, this woman should have her own Food Network show. Bon Appe-Cheat. Or, maybe an Animal Planet show about alcoholic pets. Great gift book idea! The Art of Table Dancing: Escapades of an Irreverent Woman

Cooking With A Laugh

I've read Susan Reinhardt's first two books, but her latest, Dishing With The Kitchen Virgin, is her best yet. From essays on trying to prepare holiday dinners when you're having contractions to the best ways to prepare spam (the meat kind) and roadkill, Ms. Reinhardt leaves you laughing with every page. As an added bonus, there's even a few recipes in the book that fall under the classification of edible.

The Pulpwood Queen Gives Five Diamonds in her Tiara!

Susan Reinhardt not only puts on her big girl panties, she deals with it! This is one book you can judge by the cover of the book and since I wear granny panties too, five diamonds in the Pulpwood Queen Tiara! This is one author who shows that "true beauty" comes from those who make us laugh not at ourselves but all together! Who needs anti-depressants, bring on Susan Reinhardt! Any old book can make me cry, but a book that make me laugh outloud is worth it's weight in gold!" Kathy L. Patrick Founder of The Pulpwood Queens Book Clubs

Another serving of Susan's wonderful humor

I was thrilled to see a new book by Susan. Even though I know my way around a Cuisinart, I can certainly relate to her wacky culinary mishaps and last minute improvisations. Her concoctions and calamities crack me up, and remind me fondly of growing up in the South and the surprises awaiting us at the dinner table. Reinhardt's recipe for humor always leave me wanting more. What a gem she is!
