Excellent but Flawed

I give this guide 4/5 stars because it is a slightly mixed bag. I'll start with the.... ---- PROS ---- *Size* -----------It's compact and easy to take with you anywhere *Organization* ---It's nicely organized with graphs and charts as well as screenshots and the pages are color coded making it easy to flip through to your desired section and trust me you will be ------------------hitting this book over and over. *Information* ----Obviously it's a great resource but it is important to note that it provides a quicker more condensed and user friendly set of information than all the guides on the internet, ------------------although you'll want to use those from time to time as well. *Presentation* ---The book is filled with official artwork from the game, just jam packed with eye candy on nearly every page. *Multi Platform* --It containes information on all 3 versions of the game which is helpful although flawed which brings me to the next section of the review and that is cons and flaws; ---------- Cons/Flaws ---------- Ok there are a few flaws here and I suppose it's because they had so many version of the game to look at that they missed a few things or got confused. 1) In the section titled; LISTS & CHARTS:CLASSES on pages 252 - 263 it lists -[ non-recruitable characters ]- that is characters that you can never play as. Among these are Adell and Rozalin. The issue here is that these 2 charactes ARE playable as they join your party after defeating them. Nowhere in the guide does it note this and I assume it is exclusive to the DS version although I am not positive. It's also important to note that although the guide says that you can only get the item [Nemesis] from Tyrant Baal it is possible to get 2 more from Rozalin when you fight her by stealing the one she has equipped and then gaining another when she joins your party after defeating her (she joins re-equipped with one). 2) It does not note that when talking to Ghoss during the final episode in the overlord's castle to obtain a diabolic sword, it is possible to get a legendary version by quitting and reloading your save file to talk to Ghoss again until you get the legendary version. 3) The guide is missing some exploits that others have found by others prior to this guide's release including the ability to exploit the farming of specialists to increase your stats immensely at earlier points in the game and at a faster rate than leveling up. Another exploit is the ability to combine a +50 to exp and 2 clone pyramids in order to set up a geopanel stage that constantly clones beat up high level versions of the monster Argus which allows you to level up very quickly. ------- Summary ------- All in all this is an EXCELLENT guide and I HIGHLY recommend it. When paired with online resources this guide is indispensible for getting the most out of your Disgaea game and it's travel size is especially helpful for pairing it with the handheld versions that you probably carry in y

Compact and loaded with goodies!

After receiving "Disgaea" for the PS2 for Christmas, Both my brother and I were overwhelmed with the amount of information and explaination of the depth of Disgaea. We are constantly reveiwing the guide for tid-bits of literally, hundreds of things from the game. Although this guide is smaller than most in size it is chocked full of ALMOST everything a gamer will need. Both of us recommend the investment.
