Re-discovering the place of common prayer

Sue Careless has given us an exceptionally good volume which does so much more than its title suggests. In the context of an excellent commentary on daily prayer within the Anglican tradition, she provides thoughtful and engaging reflection on the role that prayer plays in a healthy spiritual life. Well researched and firmly based on scripture, this book will be greatly valued by all those who wish to sift through the meager offerings of modern theologians to find the more substantial tradition that has the power to change our lives. I can't wait for the next volume.

This is an excellent introduction to the Prayer Book for anyone interested, and is also a wonderful practical guide to its use for those already well-acquainted with it.
