Insightful

This book is very inspiring and can be read over and over. The insights by Milton and Michael are very profound and can be applied to most anything in your life. Amazingly, some of the basic philosophy of surfing and life presented in the book can even be applied to my own career as an Emergency Room Physician. It has helped with everything from stress relief to work life balance. I highly recommend it.

Beautifully written, thought provoking

You can see from their writing that the Willis brothers love people and love nature. Their advice on facing life's challenges is couched in surfing vocabulary, using the wave as the the context. They really are expert teachers of a difficult skill to master, and they apply their teaching insights to surfing the waves of life. What's new about this motivational book is the use of the ocean, the wave, and the surfing challenge to illustrate philosophical principles. Good idea to pull this book out from time to time to refresh your outlook and remind yourself of your true worthiness.
