First-person survivor accounts of three disasters, the 1914 shipwreck of the Empress of Ireland, the 1928 crash of the airship Italia, and the 1930 crash of the dirigible R-101.
I give Disaster a 4.5. This book is good, but it could have been better without the frist story of the Empress of Ireland. The thing that made this book really good was the last two storys of the dirigibles. Captain Noble set out on an adventure to the South Pole. But when caught in a storm somthing goes wrong. In the R-101 case the story was much diffrent. The engineers were rushing to met an up coming deadline. The voyage starts out ok but becomes a DISASTER! If you like things that blow up as much as me then you should read this one.
Highly recommended!

This book of survival is the best book I've ever read. The disasasters are the 1914 sinking of the Empress of Ireland, the 1928 Arctic crash of airship Italia, and the 1930 crashing of the R-101 dirigible. All of the tales are exciting and thrill and I highly recommend this to people of all ages!
